Living the Abu Dhabi Life

Abu Dhabi’s high fliers must have taken the phrase “bigger is better” literally. The city’s main concerns seem to surround finding new ways of building further and further upwards . If things continue this way – in a few decades, Abu Dhabi’s tallest sky tower will be playing bat and ball with Mars and Venus . Not only are the capital city’s leaders building some of the world’s tallest and most technically advanced buildings, they are doing it with a large serving of style and panache. While Abu Dhabi is the capital and governmental centre of UAE , it could also be considered the “bling” capital of the world.

Abu Dhabi is just off the coast of the Qatari Peninsula and is encircled by the Persian Gulf. Many islands connect to Abu Dhabi including: Yas Island, Saadiyat Island and Lulu Island . These islands are currently being developed . Hotels and apartment buildings are popping up across these islands which are connected to Abu Dhabi and the mainland by large bridges. No where in Abu Dhabi can be thought of as remote a large network of roads successfully connect the city together and ensure that traffic never stops . ~ keep the traffic moving}

This city seems to be the perfect place for commerce . Abu Dhabi International Airport is second in commuter activity only to Dubai. Etihad Airways provides service to the United States and Australia. Operation of Etihad Airways is forever expanding though, so it would be foolish to assume that it will stay that way for the foreseeable future.

An airport expansion is due to be completed in 2010 which should reduce the developing crowd often seen at peak times. Dhow harbour is close to port Zayed and offers connection to oil rigs and supply vessels. Arab shipping boats start racing from this harbour and this regular activity is a great tourist draw.

The gilded capital of the United Arab Emirates is a Perfect for shopping . Regardless of whether you prefer sleek modern malls or traditional markets, Abu Dhabi has something for you.

The tourist who is a compulsive buyer, the sightseer with an interest in modern architecture or the serious business entrepreneur would definitely feel at home in this pulsating city. Abu Dhabi has barely skipped a beat since its transition from a flourishing pearl industry to earthly oil king. A constant supply of finance has continued to pump into the city, and this is certainly visible.
